Cauliflower makes for an excellent side dish and a surprisingly satisfying meal. When cooked, its nutty, sweet flavor and meaty texture can hold its own against any kind of meat. Since most cauliflower steak recipes involve a combination of stovetop and oven cooking, we streamlined our preparation by using a steam-then-roast method where all of the cooking takes place in the oven. Juiciest Stovetop Pork Chops
Preparing juicy, tender, perfectly browned pork chops for one requires the use of thicker chops (we prefer ¾- to 1-inch thickness) and the right size pan (10-inch skillet). Using a medium-size pan helped us achieve better browning, giving the chops a soft and succulent crust.
Stovetop Spinach Macaroni and Cheese
There’s a reason macaroni and cheese is a go-to comfort food for so many home cooks–it’s a bowl of pasta coated in a rich and creamy cheese sauce! We relied on real American cheese and extra-sharp cheddar for our recipe, adding in baby spinach for some freshness. And if you’re not sold yet on why you should skip a prepackaged box with a cheese packet, our recipe requires no draining. With less mess and less stress, this recipe is comfort on demand.
Edible Cookie Dough
Sometimes you just want cookie dough. Not a cookie, just cookie dough. Because raw cookie dough contains eggs, which can be unsafe to eat raw, we created a delicious and simple egg-free version you can whip up in a flash. Because flour is also unsafe to eat in raw form, we microwaved it to remove any bacteria. Using brown sugar helped us to create a deeper flavor in the dough. Pop-able rounds of pure delight, you can freeze these for future use.
